Virtuoso lineup of performers in the spotlight on Coronation Night


(Los Angeles, CA) – There are few musical performers that induce a high degree of cultural and artistic pride among overseas Filipino communities around the globe through their performances.   Three such performers will showcase their exceptional, world-class talents on Saturday, July 23, 2016, during the Coronation Night of Binibining Pilipinas USA 2016 pageant, at Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, in Redondo Beach, CA.  

   Founded in 1990, Kayamanan Ng Lahi Philippine Folk Arts is a critically acclaimed non-profit organization based in Los Angeles. Kayamanan is committed to presenting, promoting and preserving the richness and diversity of Philippine culture through dance and music to entertain, educate and enrich. Noted for its extensive dance repertoire, costumes and music ensembles, Kayamanan has received numerous accolades, including L.A. Times' " ...consistently exciting and a triumph of enlightened cultural preservation." Kayamanan Ng Lahi is proud to have celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2015. The group has also been cited for outstanding leadership in the arts by the Los Angeles City Council, and the Philippine Consulate General in Los Angeles.   

  Members of the Filipino-American Symphony Orchestra (FASO) will also highlight their musical artistry as part of this exciting evening.  Founded in 2008, FASO) is the first and only Filipino symphony orchestra outside of the Philippines. It is committed to the promotion of Filipino artists and culture through orchestral music. Under the artistic leadership of musical director and conductor Robert Shroder, FASO seeks to sustain artistic excellence in our community and to nurture love and pride in one's identity.

  Finally, the evening draws to a close with Jonathan Badon on center stage.  Dubbed, the “Prince of Popera,” Mr. Badon has electrified audiences all over the globe with his unique musical renderings of a wide-ranging assortment of musical styles.  A multi-awarded artist, Mr. Badon has performed in various concerts, diplomatic shows and international cultural festivals all over the globe, including his debut performances at Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Vatican in Rome.

He is an Aliw Awardee for Best Classical Performer and Best Global Pinoy Performer. He also was given an award by the City of San Antonio, Texas and was honored by the State Legislature of Hawaii as an outstanding international artist.

In every respect, Coronation Night promises to deliver the best in musical entertainment to pageant and music fans everywhere.
