Binibining Pilipinas USA Titleholders Spread Goodwill and Charity While Promoting Philippines Tourism

(Los Angeles, CA – October 18, 2017) – Freshly crowned following a spectacular Coronation Night celebration, six Binibining Pilipinas USA titleholders, led by BP-USA Tourism Kylie Nishida set out on a whirlwind, two-week, island-hopping campaign that covered Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, including  the historic cobble stone streets of the North,  to the raging whitewater rapids of the South, and in between, braving the challenging canyons and waterfalls of the Visayas.

As part of their prize packages, the first leg of the trip whisked the Binibinis to Manila and the surrounding cities of the National Capital Region. While in Manila, the Royal Court was treated to opulent accommodations at Discovery Suites in Ortigas, a longtime partner of the pageant. The succeeding days involved grand welcomes from its sponsors, Chevrolet Philippines and Toyota Alabang, who provided the official land transportation for the Binibinis in Manila.

Former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson chaperoned the Binibinis on his private aircraft previously used to shuttle Miss Universe contestants all over the country. Upon a grand welcome courtesy of incumbent Governor Ryan Singson to Ilocos Sur, the ladies were put up at Mr. Chavit Singson’s private estate, “Forbidden Village,” where only a select few VIPs have ever been privileged to stay. Little is known about the property where Chavit calls his home, except that it is a small city dotted with extravagant villas, which the Binibining Pilipinas USA traveling party were assigned. The queens were hosted at Baluarte, an enormous expanse of land occupied by a collection of safari artifacts. The ranch was dominated by a golden tower several stories high. Following, a most informative tour was in order to visit Calle Crisologo, Vigan’s Spanish Quarter remarkably preserved and stuck in time, in the modern age.

On their return to Manila, the winners took this opportunity to pay a courtesy visit to its sponsors Philippine Airlines, the Official Airline Partner of Binibining Pilipinas USA, and its top executives.  Television appearances filled out the rest of the day’s schedule, hosting and participating in two top-rated noontime shows – ASAP and Eat Bulaga. Afterwards, the Binibinis dined at a couple of the widely popular Gerry’s Grill chain of restaurants. Then off to Cebu they went, where they were boarded at the secluded island paradise, Badian Island Wellness Resort & Spa, a speed boat ride away from the main Island where the ladies were spoiled with activities that distracted them from the outside world. The next day’s adventure involved Kawasan’s canyoneering trek that culminated in a number of spectacular waterfalls.

Over to Mindanao, Governor Bambi Emano personally welcomed the Royal court to Misamis Oriental, where in the next couple of days the ladies were consumed by a number of outdoor activities.  Hosted by the plush Limketkai Luxe hotel in Cagayan de Oro, the local government provided the entourage with the use of dozens of special police forces, the Philippine Coast Guard, rescue and emergency personnel. The next day rushed the queens into roaring river rapids, then later to the gentle mist of a majestic 180 meter Sagpulon falls, and eventually to the Agutayan sandbar that disappears beneath the waves when the tide rolls in. A limousine bus was generously provided for by SMIThe evening was topped off with a relaxing night with tropical juices atop Pacifico Hotel’s E-Bar, overlooking Cagayan de Oro city.

In the end, back in Manila, the last stop was at VIVA Entertainment where the Binibinis were granted an audience with head honchos and entertainment kingpins Vic and Vincent del Rosario. Lastly, to cap the trip, they were welcomed home to Discovery Suites for a farewell lunch, as top executives of Discovery Suites joined the Binibinis for what is now an annual ritual.  Aside from Nishida, the official traveling party included BP-USA 2017 Nikki Zulueta, BP-USA 1st Runner Up KellyCeniza, BP-USA 2nd Runner Up Nicole Viera, BP-USA 3rd Runner Up Nicole Colina, Binibining Pilipinas Teen USA Asia Aragon and Binibining Philippine Airlines Amber Oconer.  One of the highlights of the trip was meeting the primary charitable beneficiaries on the pageant, Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation, which provides school supplies and boats to children living in remote, waterbound communities that allows them to go to school.

Upon returning to the US, fatigue and jet lag took its expected toll, but the Binibining Pilipinas USA Queens hit the ground running gearing up for LA Fashion Week, and a string of activities to come. Stay tuned throughout the year to follow their adventures. Where will your pageant experience take you? Your DESTINY Awaits!
